E has lived most of his life in New York and Chicago and has been playing guitar since the age of 12 when he purchased an Appetite for Destruction CD from Camelot Music....it was love at first listen! With a Les Paul and a Marshall, his passion for music grew as did his influences ranging from classical to metal, blues to rap, country to reggae. In addition to being involved with numerous Regional and National touring Guns n' Roses tribute acts as Slash, Emal was most recently the lead guitar player for Chicago's own FNR and has had the pleasure of opening for major label acts such as: Vince Neil of Motley Crue, Local H, Mushroomhead, Bret Michaels of Poison, Staind, and many more! Having been a Crowes fan from the start, he was thrilled at the opportunity to team up with such a great team of musicians and bring Remedy to life and has been having a lot of fun in the process!
Josh Watson, simply called "Watson" by most, resides in the big city of Rockford, IL. Josh is well known in the area for playing guitar in a Rolling Stones tribute band called Tattoo You, the outlaw country band called The Sons of Many Bitches, as well as previously singing and playing guitar in The Van Dammits. Josh brings his big sound and vintage bag of licks to Remedy and brings to life your favorite Crowe's tunes in spite of his large intake of alcoholic beverages! So when you're at a Remedy show and see a lively gent with a guitar in one hand, beverage in the other, and at times mumbling "What a mess, I own this piece or right awn right awn", congratulations, you have met Josh Watson!
Arik Jenkins is a self taught musician with a deep love of music. He paid for his first
solo record "Leo's Big Deal" by trading his services as a studio musician for
vocals, guitar, and bass for many local bands, as well as doing voice overs
for television and radio commercials. For Arik's second album, "Crazy By The
Moon" in 1996, he signed a development deal with Mercury Records. Such talents
as Rick Nielsen and Bun E. Carlos from Cheap Trick, Rob Harding from Off
Broadway, Scott Gorsuch from E.I.E.I.O., and Brad Elvis of the Elvis
Brothers appear on these recordings. In addition to his original music, Arik has
written numerous radio and TV jingles, as well as a few movie sound tracks!
Although Arik is dedicating most of his time to Remedy, he is currently also playing in Can't
Touch This.
Although he plays bass for Remedy, Steve Ramone is sought after as a lead singer, guitar player and songwriter in his hometown of Chicago. He has worn many hats as a musician and has opened for rock acts such as The Gin Blossoms, Fastball, Blues Traveler and Jimmy Eat World as well as country acts like Montgomery Gentry and Johnny Paycheck. His songwriting style can best be described as Pop/Rock and he has written with many of the Chicago land areas best writers including Donnie Vie and Punk/Pop-Rock underground mainstay Peter Blast. Highly regarded for his on stage presence, Steve is a consistent hit with live audiences.
Steve and drummer Joe Kunkel have been playing in bands together for over five years. Together they create a rhythm section that is tight but leaves plenty of room to groove. Although he handles the majority of the background vocals in the live show, Remedy relies on Steve to help bridge the gap between the audience and the stage. His ability to sing, play and command a stage helps to make a Remedy show a pleasure to watch. Of Hispanic decent, Steve is never more than a few feet away from a sharp object and should be approached with caution.
A few words come to mind when describing drummer Joe Kunkel...professional, talented, and one hell of a nice guy to name a few! This means that Remedy has to share Joe with many different touring bands making him one of the busiest drummers in Chicago! Joe has played and toured with some amazing local, regional, and national bands including Blue Moon Swamp, Sarah and the Tall Boys, Paul Switch, and even Survivor just to name a few! You can find Joe at any Remedy show near the bar doing shots with E before, during, and after the show!
